Description

This module builds on production skills already introduced throughout first and second year. The module will emulate the newspaper and online industry workplace by developing reporting and research skills, demonstrating media law and ethics understanding in practice, news value assessment, team working, community engagement and sub editing skills up to a professional, outward facing, standard. Taught through lectures, workshops and supervision, students will be sourcing, writing, filming and subbing self-generated stories from an allocated patch, presenting them both in print and digitally, demonstrating the difference in story treatment for different platforms.
